QR Code Generator Links, text, Wi-Fi and contacts

Make a static QR code, customize its appearance and download PNG or SVG. No account needed.

Make a QR code

If you leave out the scheme, https:// is added. The link is encoded directly, without a tracking redirect.

Optional local PNG, JPEG, GIF or WebP, under 5 MB and up to 4,096 pixels per side.

Encoded content

Static codes never expire. A link can still stop working if its destination goes away. No dynamic codes or scan statistics are provided.

Generation, logos and scan checks run in your browser. Nothing is uploaded. There is no scan tracking.

How to make a QR code

Choose what it should contain

Select URL for a link, Text for a message, or one of the structured formats for Wi-Fi, email, phone, SMS or a contact. The preview updates as you type. Open Encoded content to check the exact value that a scanner will receive. Nothing needs to be registered with a QR service.

Wi-Fi fields are escaped before they are encoded. Contact details use vCard 3.0. A QR reader may offer to open the relevant application, but behavior depends on the phone and scanner. Creating a code does not itself make a call, send a message or join a network.

Customize and download

Choose dark modules on a light background and keep a clear border around the code. A local logo can be placed in the center; the generator switches error correction to H and limits the covered area. Functional patterns are preserved. Test the result after adding a logo.

PNG gives you a raster image at the selected pixel size. SVG keeps a vector representation for layout applications. Copy image appears where the browser supports image clipboard access. Keep the image square when placing it in a document.

Why is my QR code not scanning?

Check contrast and the border

Low contrast makes modules harder to distinguish. Some scanners do not accept light modules on a dark background, even when the contrast is strong. Leave the quiet zone around the code clear: a border below four modules triggers a warning here. Nearby text, frames or artwork can interfere with detection.

A code that is too small, blurred or distorted may fail. More content creates a denser symbol. Try a shorter payload, a larger image or a lower error correction level if you do not need a logo. Inspect the downloaded file rather than relying only on its scaled preview.

Try without the logo

A logo hides data, so remove it if reading becomes unreliable. Error correction helps recover damaged information, but it is not a guarantee for every logo, print or scanner. Where the browser supports BarcodeDetector, the scan check really decodes the preview and compares it with your payload. The line is hidden when that capability is unavailable.

A successful scan and a working destination are separate things. If the scanner reads the URL but the site will not open, check the destination and your connection. This generator does not visit links to test them.

Do QR codes expire?

These static QR codes never expire. The image contains the payload itself and does not depend on an account, subscription or redirect run by this tool. You can keep the downloaded image and use it later. Its usefulness still depends on the content: a website can close, a Wi-Fi password can change, and contact information can become outdated.

Dynamic QR services usually encode a managed redirect, allowing the destination to change later and sometimes collecting scan statistics. This page does not provide dynamic codes, destination editing or scan analytics. To change the content of a static code, generate a new image.

What is a QR code and how does it work?

QR stands for Quick Response. A QR Code Model 2 symbol contains data modules, location patterns, timing patterns and error correction information, following ISO/IEC 18004. The generator selects the smallest version that fits the chosen content and error correction level, evaluates eight mask patterns and chooses the lowest penalty score.

Numeric and uppercase alphanumeric content can be encoded more compactly than general UTF-8 text. More error correction leaves less room for data in the same version. If the input exceeds version 40 at the selected level, the page reports the applicable maximum and suggests shortening the content or lowering the level.

QR code generator FAQ

What is the difference between static and dynamic QR codes?

A static code contains its final payload. A dynamic service commonly puts a managed redirect in the code so the service can change where it points. These codes are static and have no scan tracking.

Can I add a logo?

Yes. Choose a local raster image. Error correction switches to H while the logo is present, and the centered area stays below twenty percent of the symbol. Test the downloaded result on the devices you expect people to use.

How do I make a QR code for a PDF or picture?

Host the file somewhere people can access it, then encode that file’s link in the URL tab. This page does not host or upload PDFs and pictures. A logo file is embedded only in the generated image and is not published to a hosting service.

Can I use these QR codes commercially?

You can download and use the generated images without a tool fee or account. Make sure you have permission to use any logo or linked content, and test the final image in its intended setting.

Is scanning a QR code safe?

A QR code can point to a deceptive site. Check your scanner’s link preview before opening it, especially when the image came from an unexpected message or a sticker placed over another code. Encoding a link does not verify the destination.

Does the scan check collect scan statistics?

No. It is a local check of the currently rendered image using the browser’s decoder. It does not report where, when or how often a downloaded code is scanned.
